How to Treat Renal Stone without Surgery

Definitely, most of them have went to hospital or saw a doctor, they are asked to have a CT scan to check the quantity, location and size of renal stone. Generally, doctors suggest patients with large-size stone to have a surgery. Actually, most doctors warn that if patients do not conduct the surgery timely, the stones may go out of control in the near future. However, patients are frightened to have an operation. They want to know how to treat renal stones (kidney stone) without surgery.

As a kidney disease specialized hospital, we have treated patients with various kinds and sizes of stones, but we do suggest conservative treatment instead of surgery, because no matter what kind of surgeries patients’ choice, they all have possibility to damage patients’ kidneys and health. Especially for the children patients who are frightened to have a surgery. Indeed, surgery is a good method for patients with large renal stones, because these kinds of stones are difficult to be discharged from urine or dissolved. However, for some patients with small stones (smaller than 1 cm), it is possible to treat without surgery or even medicines, the following are suggestions:

I Drink more water:

Drink water is effective both for prevention and treatment of small renal stones, patients’ urine volume (ideal urine volume is about 2000~ 3000 ml), this is obvious to reduce the saturation of position of urinary stones. Drink more water could produce much pressure on urethra, and is helpful to discharge the stones.

II adjust the dietary structure:

Reduce the intake of milk, dairy products and animal protein, at the same time, eat food rich in plant cellulose (apple, strawberry, orange, tomato, carrot, pakchoi etc.).

III Keep doing jumping exercise:

This is helpful to discharge the stones, but remember do not be so severe.
