What are the Side Effects of PKD

Polycystic Kidney Disease is a kind of hereditary disease, so it always present in the whole family, and unfortunately, there is still no cure for PKD.
First these cysts will cause many complication of the patients, the following are some common ones that are caused by PKD.
1. Loss of kidney function to kidney failure
Progressive loss of kidney function is one of the most serious complications of polycystic kidney disease. Generally the patients will step into kidney failure stage in their 50s if no treatments are intervened.
2. High blood pressure
Elevated blood pressure is a very common complication of polycystic kidney disease. If high blood pressure can't be well controlled, it will cause further damage to the kidneys and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke of the patients.
3. Cysts of other organs, like liver, pancreas, Ovary, lung, etc.
4. Kidney stones It is another common complication of PKD. Sometimes the patients will feel great pain, due to the kidney stones, and the kidney cysts. The patients should adopt a right method to remove the stones, and relive the pain. Don't try those ways which would cause damage to the kidneys, or it will accelerate the kidney damage process.
